USING SOCIAL MEDIA TO PROMOTE RESEARCH OUTPUTE

Basically, part of the new trend now in information science is the fact that we cannot discuss librarianship without technology. The advent of social media is changing the role of librarian from traditional status to a scientifically and technologically based because of introduction of social media to the system.  Social media is all about sharing of information This entails using web based tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook, twitter, Google plus, Google drive as well as research tools i.e Zotero, Academia, Research gate,  Google Scholar, Google Plus etc. to source for information, process and organize information, making information accessible by using technological resources to disseminate information, specifically, research outputs. As a researcher, Using social media tools can actually bring out the hidden treasure in you.
